RANT - What did i get myself into this time.
J0 d00ds. Update on the Gobo front.
Basically, i'm deep into something that may have sounded wonderful, but is becoming quite the headbreaker. The modification of portage itself is pretty much straightfoward. BUT. Thanks to Dr. Murphy and his stupid law, nothing is ever as it SHOULD be.
Of all the files, why are the ebuilds the one to be modified. I mean, come ON people, what's the goal, to hardcode commands in the ebuilds, and export settings that could just be given as arguments to the configure script! Take fte for example. Go into the ebuild, and see for yourself : the guy made an export, and uses that export in econf. WHY? Hell if I knew. But he works that way, and it screws up.
Will I have to renovate all the Portage tree? I sure as hell think I should. But then again, what do I care? New ebuilds will still be written in weird ways.
What the hell. I'll do it anyway. :D
ED : Yay for me. Emake uses it. I sed in emake.
I am dumb. 2.0.
